The presentation will provide strategies and activities for new to the field kindergarten and assistant teachers to use with kindergartners who are “ readier” than those in the class and are bored, acting out and/ or resisting to come! Generally, the first six-nine weeks of school are spent assessing children and addressing basics so pre-reading and math concepts and skills can be introduced. What about the children who come to kindergarten reading and demonstrating skills in adding and subtracting? What to do with them?
