Superintendents, Curriculum Coordinators, Principals, Federal Programs Directors, Special Education Directors, and District Test Coordinators:
To provide focused support to districts and schools, the Mississippi Department of Education (MDE), through the Office of Professional Development, is pleased to offer a regional service delivery model. In partnership with the University of Mississippi, the MDE employs 11 professional development coordinators to deliver face-to-face and virtual training in the areas of English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and Special Education.
The resources linked below contain detailed information about the Regional Educational Service Agency (RESA) assigned to each district, the training request process, and the services offered in the current Professional Development Catalog. A professional development coordinator will deliver the requested training at no cost to the district in accordance with the Local Educational Agency (LEA) Parameters linked below.
If you have any questions about the model, contact Amy Pinkerton (apinkerton@mdek12.org or 601-201-5535) or Dr. Lea Johnson (lea.johnson@mdek12.org or 601-359-2957).
We hope that you will take advantage of this no-cost professional development support service. Thank you for your hard work and dedication to the students and teachers in Mississippi!
