Contract Career Opportunities: School and District Transformation and School Improvement

The Mississippi Department of Education: The Offices of School and District Transformation (OSDT) and School Improvement (OSI) are seeking leadership coaches to provide direct, ongoing support to schools and districts identified under the Office of School Improvement.  The support will include, but is not limited to, coordinating and providing appropriate services to school and district leaders and leadership teams with implementation of systems and plans aligned to effective instructional leadership practices as well as supports to address the consistent underperformance. The leadership coaches will facilitate an open, professional, and collaborative work relationship between the Mississippi Department of Education and the school districts and schools, effectively identifying the needs of the assigned districts to prioritize, schedule, organize, and provide technical assistance to support systemic improvement.  Additionally, extensive travel within the state and frequent onsite school visits are required.

Experience/Education Requirements 

• Three (3) years’ experience as a successful administrator, principal or superintendent preferred
• Standard Career Level (486) or comparable endorsement
• Experience supporting students in Title I schools and struggling student subgroups as identified by the Mississippi Department of Education
• Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Advanced Degree in Education Leadership
