Contract Career Opportunities: Executive Director Mississippi Virtual Synchronous Learning Initiative (REACH)

The Mississippi Department of Education: The Office of Innovative and Support Systems is seeking an Executive Director for the Mississippi Virtual Synchronous Learning Initiative (REACH), which will lead the statewide program by providing strategic vision, operational oversight, policy alignment to ensure equitable access to certified virtual instruction in critical shortage areas.  They will oversee program operations, including staffing, scheduling, district onboarding, and compliance with technical and instructional standards.  The Executive Director will coordinate with Mississippi Public Broadcasting, MDE departments, and local districts to maintain high-quality instructional delivery and support services.  They will ensure data accuracy for attendance to grades, manage the program budget, and oversee professional development for facilitators and virtual teachers.  Additionally, they will monitor student accommodations, address technology infrastructure needs, and serve as the primary liaison and spokesperson for REACH, providing regular performance updates to MDE leadership.

Experience/Education Requirements 

• Experience as a successful lead teacher, with masters degree preferable in Math, Science, or ELA
• Administrative License or Endorsement is preferred, but not required
