Module 1: Introduction

In this module, you will “meet” your instructors, learn the requirements of this course, and be introduced to the terms “trauma-informed” and “Adverse Childhood Experiences”. You will view 2 brief videos, read one article, and take a quiz.

 

At the end of Module 1, participants will be able to do the following:

    • Identify how to successfully complete the course and how to get help in this course, if needed.
    • Define the terms “trauma” and “Adverse Childhood Experiences”.

 

To complete Module 1, please do the following:

    1. Download and read the course syllabus to familiarize yourself with course goals and requirements.
    2. Watch the “Module 1 Video” below to meet your instructors and learn the course requirements.
    3. Watch the brief video, “What is Trauma?”.  (Click on the title of the video.)
    4. Read about Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) at this link from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).
    5. Complete the quiz regarding Module 1 content. (10 points)
