Welcome to Trauma-Informed Instruction: What Teachers Need to Know. We are excited you are here!

During these unprecedented times, our students are experiencing all sorts of major life events that impact their development and result in barriers to education. In this course, you will learn strategies to meet the needs of all students as we navigate these uncharted waters.

At the end of this course, participants will be able to do the following:

    1. Define trauma and describe its impact on human development and education.
    2. Define adverse childhood experiences and describe their impact on human development and education.
    3. Identify trauma-informed strategies to meet the needs of all learners.
    4. Analyze student behavior using a curious approach and determine the appropriate response to offer support.
    5. Describe your plan to implement trauma-informed strategies in your classroom or school.

This course is self-paced, meaning you can work at your own pace and at times that are convenient for you. The course contains six (6) modules, and we estimate the course will take you approximately 10 hours total, including all readings, assessments, assignments, and the course evaluation. Please be sure to read directions very carefully and complete each module so you will be eligible to receive credit for the course. A final grade of 80 or above is required to be eligible for credit.

At any time, please do not hesitate to email one of us if you have questions. We look forward to getting to know you as the course progresses!
