Module 2: Impact of ACEs on Child Development

In Module 2, you will explore ways trauma can impact a child’s development, including the effects of trauma on the brain, body, and reactions.

    • By the end of Module 2, all participants will be able to do the following:
    • Identify trauma and ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences)
    • Discuss effects of trauma on brain and body development
    • Identify developmental characteristics of trauma
    • Analyze Gene vs. Environment in trauma

 

To successfully complete Module 2, please do the following:

    1. Complete the Pretest. (ungraded)
    2. Watch the Module 2 video below.
    3. Watch the video “Alberta Family Wellness” and document your opinion on a Padlet of which impacts trauma the most– having the genes or being in the environment– “Genes or Environment”. (2 points)
    4. Complete the Posttest here. (20 points)
