In this module, you will “meet” your instructors, learn the requirements of this course, and be introduced to the terms “trauma-informed” and “Adverse Childhood Experiences”. You will view 2 brief videos, read one article, and take a quiz.
At the end of Module 1, participants will be able to do the following:

- Identify how to successfully complete the course and how to get help in this course, if needed.
- Define the terms “trauma” and “Adverse Childhood Experiences”.
To complete Module 1, please do the following:

- Download and read the course syllabus to familiarize yourself with course goals and requirements.
- Watch the “Module 1 Video” below to meet your instructors and learn the course requirements.
- Watch the brief video, “What is Trauma?”. (Click on the title of the video.)
- Read about Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) at this link from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).
- Complete the quiz regarding Module 1 content. (10 points)
